A carbon footprint is the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions arising from a specific activity, such as your cargo shipment. The CO2 emissions of a shipment depend on the aircraft used, the distance flown and the load the aircraft carries.

You can choose how much of your contribution goes to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) provided by SkyNRG, and how much goes to certified carbon offset projects that reduce, capture, or avoid greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Your compensation is not connected to your shipment reservation, but you can claim a refund through CHOOOSE by emailing finnaircargo-support@chooose.today. The refund is not processed automatically if you cancel your shipment.

Yes, as the compensation is not connected to your shipment reservation, you can choose to compensate after the flight. 

All of the funds are applied directly to carbon offsets sourced from projects and SAF, excluding taxes and fees on each transaction. For each transaction, a small service and technology fee is charged by CHOOOSE.

Yes, you can reduce the SAF share of the compensation. Unfortunately, the offset cannot be reduced in the Scope reporting but companies can reduce the offset share in their net zero reporting. Would you need to have a more detailed emission reduction certificate for your Scope 3 reporting, please contact us via this form.

This service is reserved for compensating for individual shipments or multiple shipments of a few thousand kilos. If you wish to compensate for bigger amounts of shipments please contact us via this form.
